Interview model and actress Malia Kai

- Rowald: How are you today?
- Malia: I'm great! It's friday and looking forward
to 2008! So excited!
- Rowald: When and how did you start
modeling?
- Malia: I was modeling when I was 16. Ok really
acting and dancing.
- Rowald: What category of photos do you do?
- Malia: I have done from Fashion Shots, Glamour,
Swim wear and Lingerie
- Rowald: Did you take any classes for
modeling or acting?
- Malia: I took acting classes at an Actors workshop
here in San Diego, I mainly learned a lot from Robert Man and Ralph Waxman when
I did a sketch comedy show for them here in San Diego. The workshop was just
like Who's Line is it Anyway. Gotta be quick on your feet and funny.
- Rowald: Does a shoot make you nervous?
- Malia: I really don't get nervous at shoots, I
just try to have fun.
- Rowald: Do you have a prefered scenery or
outfit?
- Malia: I love shooting at the beach. That golden
hour is just beautiful backdrop!
- Rowald: What's your experience been like so
far? How has the industry treated you so far?
- Malia: The industry was very tough on me. I had a
friend who worked in the industry and said she would help me out but in reality
she wasn't looking out for my best interest. I dropped out of the scene for a
bit and decided to finish college. I wanted something to fall back on. I was
young and naive then. I still have a lot to learn.
- Rowald: What are the worst assumptions
people make about models?
- Malia: LOL! Ok well, that all models are snobby
and pretentious. I'm the biggest dork of all!
- Rowald: What other talents do you
pursue?
- Malia: Acting is my passion, actually, comedy! I
love making people laugh.
- Rowald: Do you have any hobbies?
- Malia: love dancing, off roading, drag racing,
boxing, football! Love my Chargers!
- Rowald: Did you travel a lot and where
to?
- Malia: Yes I love to travel! Especially now that I
work with my best friend on her travel agency! www.Gotraveling.us
- Rowald: Where would you like to go?
- Malia: I would love travel the world. I want to go
to Spain and get to know the other half of my culture.
- Rowald: If you wanted to do something nice
for your man what would you do?
- Malia: I'm always doing something nice for my man!
LOL! But to really make his new year, I'd hook the Tundra up with exhaust and
headers so he can really enjoy off roading.
- Rowald: Where will you be seen next?
- Malia: Well, I hate to say things before they
actually happen. I do have a few projects lined up and well....you'll just have
to wait and see.
- Rowald: What do you think about your
look?
- Malia: Everyone says I have an exotic look. I have
different looks depending on the make up and hair. Very versatile look.
- Rowald: What do you feel is your sexiest
feature?
- Malia: LOL! Oh gosh, I guess my lips. But everyone
tells me they want my full lips.
- Rowald: Are you going out often?
- Malia: Yes I do but not necessarily clubbing. I
love dinners with my friends. So much more enjoyable.
- Rowald: What type of reaction do you get
when you go out?
- Malia: Mixed. I get the stink eye from a lot of
girls. LOL!
- Rowald: Have you been disrespected by men
because of modeling?
- Malia: No. I don't surround myself with rude
people.
- Rowald: Do you have a thing you always have
in your purse that you can't leave home without?
- Malia: Yes, my phone and car keys!!!
- Rowald: What is your favourite type of
clothing or accessories to shop for?
- Malia: I hate shopping. I know shocker! I've never
liked shopping. But I like shopping for make up. I can spend a whole paycheck
at the Mac counter.
- Rowald: Do you have any favorite color you
like to wear?
- Malia: Black! I wear suits to work so I wear
black.
- Rowald: What woman do you find sexy?
- Malia: Women who are independent. A woman with a
sense of humor.
- Rowald: What type of music do you listen
to?
- Malia: hip hop, rock, R&B, pop all types of
music really.
- Rowald: Do you have favorite food, drinks?
- Malia: I love Japanese food! SUSHI!!! I love
sushi, it's light, healthy and goes well with Sake!
- Rowald: Would you consider yourself a
health freak?
- Malia: Yes.
- Rowald: Do you hit the gym a lot?
- Malia: Yes, I love my boxing club!
- Rowald: Where do you see yourself 5 years
from now?
- Malia: I live my life one day at a time. But I
would love to be a host for a show. LOL!=)
- Rowald: Are you in a relationship?
- Malia: Yes, and he supports everything that I do.
He is my rock.
- Rowald: What's your favorite body part on a
man?
- Malia: Lips! Coz it is all in a kiss!
- Rowald: Are you a shy person?
- Malia: I used to be shy when I was younger. I
don't know what happened along the way. LOL!
- Rowald: What are your secrets? Well you
won't tell, but do you have many no one knows about?
- Malia: Secrets?! Everyone's entitled to at least
one.
- Rowald: Have you ever told someone you had
a crush on him/her?
- Malia: Yeah like in 5th grade. LOL! I usually just
let someone know if I think they're handsome.
- Rowald: Are you romantic?
- Malia: Yes. I'm a sucker for romance.
- Rowald: Does it take you long to get ready
to go out?
- Malia: As compared to most women? No! But if I'm
prepping for a shoot, yes!
- Rowald: Do you change dress style often,
like being flexible in look from casual to fine, or do you have like everydays
wear?
- Malia: I go with the fashion trend that suits my
personality.
- Rowald: Are you a so called high
maintenance girl?
- Malia: People say with my appearance I look high
maintenace but those who know me know I can kick it just like one of the guys!
- Rowald: Would you make your hands dirty in
order to get something done rather than waiting for help?
- Malia: I'll get down and dirty! LOL! I can change
my own tire. LOL!
- Rowald: What attracts or inspires you?
- Malia: Confident and happy people are attractive.
- Rowald: When meeting a man, where do you
look first at?
- Malia: His eyes!
- Rowald: Do you speak any other
languages?
- Malia: I speak 3 different Filipino dialecs
(Tagalog, Ilocano, Visayan)and a understand but can't speak Spanish.
- Rowald: What is your highest educational
degree?
- Malia: BA in Marketing
- Rowald: Before we get to an end. Can you
give some tips for our wannabe models, like how to get started?
- Malia: Don't go to shoots with new photograpers
alone (these are those TFP ones) Bring a female friend, not your boyfriend. If
they have a problem with it then you should really think twice about the shoot.
- Rowald: Does your name Malia Kai have a
special meaning?
- Malia: Malia is Hawaiian for Maria which is my
first name. Kai just flowed with it. I thought changing my name would give me a
fresh start on things. New me, new attitude, new year.
